The Last Message of Mercy to a Dying World
The prophet Daniel saw that at a time when man is trying to unite the European Nations and the world is being increasingly visited by catastrophes and wars, a great stone will hit the image upon his feet and completely destroy it. This stone represents the Coming of Jesus Christ Dan 2:34-35, 44; Psalm 18:32. Christ will come again soon in the clouds of heaven with his angels, visible to all mankind Rev 1:7. In order to prepare mankind for this event and to help them to stand in the judgment, God, in His love, is warning mankind with a last message of mercy found in Revelation 14:6-12.
The First Angel's Message
"Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water" Rev. 14:6-7.
The first angel's message urges us to consider that the judgment is taking place now in heaven, because the present time, namely after 1798 and before the return of Christ, coincides with the period in which the judgment is taking place. Furthermore, mankind is being called upon to worship God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Yet despite this call, many people still believe in the unproven theory of evolution. God lets man know that the beauty and the amazing order and laws of nature were created by Him and did not "evolve" by accident
Romans 1:20-21.
He reminds man that He is the dispenser of all gifts and He deserves our love and worship. True love and worship mean keeping His law [the Ten Commandments as recorded in
Exodus 20:1-17]
and
To give glory to God means to reflect His character in our own. God's character is revealed to man in His law. When we take His Name, that of "Christian", we are to reflect His character. For is says in 2 Timothy 2:19:
God has revealed to us what His Name means in Exodus 33 and 34.
God's Seal
A seal is something that deals with legal issues.
A law is stamped with the seal of the ruling government. There are stories that show this in
Daniel 6 and
Esther 3.
"When a government seal is on a law, or on currency, it is official. The whole loyal nation stands behind it. God's seal makes His law official and the whole loyal universe stands behind it.
Anyone disloyal to the seal of the government and to the law upon which it is attached is looked upon as being disloyal to the government itself. Just as a government ruler's seal is placed in his law to make it official, God's seal is in His law. Here is what God says,
Where are we sealed? In our foreheads. His law is in our hearts. Under the new covenant His promise is:
The Holy Spirit places the seal of God in our forheads when we choose it. The forhead contains the 'frontal lobe'. This section of the brain is where the conscience is. When you receive the seal of God in your forehead it means you have it in your conscience. You believe in it. You're loyal to it. Just as the government ruler uses his 'seal' of government to enforce the laws of the land, God uses His 'seal' to enforce His law. The beast will use his seal (mark) to try to enforce his law in place of God's." Taken from the book, National Sunday Law by A. Jan Marcussen.
God's seal is found in the very center of His law. The fourth commandment is the only one of the ten giving the name, the title, and the territory of Him by whose authority the law was given. Thus it contains "God's seal".
This one of the Ten Commandment points directly to God as the creator:
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it"
Exodus 20:8-11.
His Title: Thy God (the Creator, thy Maker also in Isaiah 54:5.)
His Territory: The heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them
The Sabbath was made for mankind in all ages because it was instituted at Creation Genesis 2:1-3. This day is to remind us again and again to think on our Creater with thanksgiving and reverence. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy". The observance of the Sabbath is a sign of loyalty toward the true God.
See also: Ezekiel 20:20 and Isaiah 56:2.
Since the beginning of the world the Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, has always been kept on Saturday. Jesus Himself explains the immutability of the Ten Commandments: "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Matthew 5:17-18.
